The history of the Austrian Society for Philosophy
The Austrian Society for Philosophy (ŒGP) was founded in March 1985 as an all-Austrian society with the aim of establishing and maintaining contacts between philosophers of all disciplines in Austria as well as to facilitate and intensify contacts with philosophers worldwide. The first President was Prof. Dr. Rudolf Wohlgenannt (Linz), the first Secretary General was Prof. Dr. Rainer Born (Linz). The first ŒGP congress took place in Linz in 1986. The following congresses were held in Vienna in 1990, Salzburg in 1994, Graz in 1996, Innsbruck in 1998, 2000 in Linz, 2004 in Salzburg, 2007 in Graz, 2011 in Vienna and 2015 in Innsbruck.
Extensive publications have appeared from the congresses in 1986, 1994, 1996, 1998, 2000, 2004, 2011 and 2015.
